Tuning PrusaSlicer for new filaments.

I know PrusaSlicer has presets for many different types of filaments, but sometimes you come across a brand , or color, that is odd, it just won't  print right. I had this issue with a roll of Amz3D white PLA. It would print more like a PETG, maybe it was mislabeled, who knows. It would leave strings everywhere. Where does someone start 'tuning' the filament and printer parameters to get something like this to print correctly?

Thanks

Rusty

I had a white PLA that was very stringy, I reduced the temperature a lot and ended up printing at 170C, however this is the low temperature extrusion temperature, so I had to lower the low temperature print threshold to 140C, because the extruder will simply stop extruding if the temperature goes lower than the threshold.

Any new filament, I usually just try with standard Generic profiles. If I see issues I may measure the diameter, run a calibration cube to adjust the extrusion rate, and a temp tower to minimize stringing. With most quality filament I see little need to make adjustments.
