Trying to make magnet/Logo item.

Hi,  I'm trying to make a basically flat magnet, with an indented center.  I want to add lettering and other objects that will show from the indented part up to the level of the edge.  I've tried (Tinkercad) everything from trying to set the (different color) letters on top of the flat indented area but they just fall off (no adhesion).  I've also tried to "embed" them into the indented area so that they would start printing before the flat part layers end.  I bring the finished product into Slicer as an .stl and slice it but as I step through the print to put in the color changes, the lettering, etc doesn't show up until the last indented flat surface layer finishes.  When I "embeded" the letters, etc for this file, I made the rectangular indented piece first, then put all the letters, etc. together and then "grouped" them in Tinkercad.  So, the letters, etc. showed if you looked at the file from the bottom.  But, not when brought into Slicer.  I hope this is a tad clearer than mud; I've very new to designing and not sure the best way to describe things.

Maybe it is best you show us the 3mf file from PrusaSlicer (compressed into zip!) so we have a look to what you did up to now.

RE: Trying to make magnet/Logo item.

I opened your file. No errors. just fine.
- Slice
- Now there is a message," Will you use automatic color change?"   Click this message in red.

- if you missed the message or want it on another layer:
In preview move the upper cursor down untill the layer you want the new color>
Right click, choose color.

Now you can export for printing.
For explanation see: https://help.prusa3d.com/article/color-change_1687

Thanks!  I think I was trying to get too complicated with the print or I was overthinking it.   I ended up making the letters a little bit larger and now it comes out fine.  The smaller ones were too small and were falling off the print.

When designing, do I need to try to get the letters "inset" in that flat part or can I just place them on top of it?  Still learning!

RE: Trying to make magnet/Logo item.

I thought they were already on top 🙂

But anyway. You could make 2 stls:
- 1 the bottompart (flat cylinder)
- the text (bottompart).
Import both in Prusaslicer.
Then select both and merge them (expert mode, right click)
Now you can select (right column) only the text part and move it up (better by changing placement in table in right column.
Preview
set colorchange (see above).
Slice again
