Tricks to improve support surfaces

I can only get ok supports with PS no matter what I do.  I've used Cura in the past and I can get supports that create perfectly smooth surfaces and pop off in one piece.  That isn't the case with PS.  Theses are the settings I'm currently playing with.  They work, but nothing special.  

I've heard PS supprts don't match up to Cura, but I'm just hoping those were the old days and PS can stand up for itself.  I use a .2mm interface spacing so when I have to print support on top of a printed part, I can use a spatula to scrape the bottom grid layer off.  If it's solid it will typically stick too well and I can't get it off at all.

It depends on what you're printing, but I get decent support results for miniatures with:

  • 0.25mm nozzle
  • 0.15mm layer height
  • 0.25mm contact z distance
  • 3 interface layers
  • 0.2mm interface pattern spacing
  • No interface loops
  • 75% xy separation.

Supported layers don't look great, but are passable.
