Top Surface Issue
I am trying to figure out what is causing the lines in the top layers of some product mounts I'm printing. The lines appear to intersect with the cavities in the print and don't appear to be affected by different top fill patterns including monotonic. Ironing provides some mitigation but not a complete solution. Dramatically increasing the top layers from 3 to 10 appears to reduce the lines but still doesn't quite eliminate them.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

The first check is the slicer: do the lines appear on the layer preview after slicing?
Or in other words, is the printer faithfully reproducing a problem from earlier in the design chain?

As the lines are hitting the edges of the openings in the surface, I'm pretty sure this is a reflection of the toolpath, that is, it's caused by the way the nozzle lays down the top layer. This was quite commonly found on cases like this, large, flat surfaces with holes. Monotonic infill has IMHO improved the situation significantly, but it's not completely gone. Not sure there is a whole lot you can do about it, honestly.

I believe this is related to the tool path. If I rotate the print on the bed and reprint, some of the lines move to different locations or are greatly minimized. I am going to try printing the file upside down with supports, although that will most likely create a different set of issues.

You may also try to change the angle of the infill in the settings. I’m just not sure there’s a rational way to predict outcome of any of these changes.
