@elphil I just realised properly here that you're using soluble material for the interface layers. While you're waiting for a solution (aha) for getting the slicer to do what you hope for,  you could design-in bodies in your CAD package for the locations of the interface layers, set those to the soluble material extruder, and switch off interface layers in the slicer.

Hi Joan, hi Dave,

thanks for your replies! When first slicing, dual extruders and water soluble filaments were selected, and I was able to print the part halfway decently, just the interfaces were sagging. (Yesterday, I did not set the dual extruder Printer setting, but it does not seem to affact the support generation).

@Joan: I did play around with organic support before, but hat a similar problem, the interfaces made from soluble material were protuding from the layers below them. I tried again now using 'tip diameter' = 1 mm 'branch diameter' = 3 mm, 'branch distance' = 0 and 'branch density' = 100% and that looks better in the slicer, but there's still support material printed in the air. Will try to play around some more to get a decent interface layer and then try printing.

@Dave: That is also a great idea, will try that too, that should solve the problem if I get it implemented, great!
