The painted supports are not generated

Hi,

I meet a problem since several days with prusaslicer, when I paint supports and I start the slice, they are not generated

This problem does not occur on my work pc, I formatted my personal pc but the problem persists

I can only use the supports everywhere or only on the bed

What can I do to fix this?

Thanks guys 😀

Paint-on supports are a form of support enforcers, so you have to select "For support enforcers only"

Version of Prusaslicer?

Can you save the project from Prusaslicer as a 3mf file, ZIP it (or you won't be able to upload it), and upload it here so we can check your settings?

I use the latest version available to dowload 2.3.3

Same issue with alpha 3 version

tr_guard

3mf file I edited on my work pc, but when I try to add additional supports with the brush it doesn't work on my home pc

When I open your project I get the supports generated too.  Its all working perfectly normally.  In both 2.3.3 and the 2.4 alpha 3.

The support contact distance is going to make them difficult to remove but other than that they are all there.

Are you getting ANY supports generated at all on your home pc with the project as loaded ?
As detect bridging is on and it has don't support bridges enabled its only generating supports in the inner 'hole' for the perimeters, but that's perfectly normal with that option turned on.

If you aren't getting any supports at all then something must be up with your profiles on your home machine in a very fundamental way.  If a clean install after wiping out all the PS folders isnt working then there shouldnt be any trace of any profile left.

On my home computer i have all the support from the 3mf project, but when i paint some more support like the pic above and slice it, i have nothing (see below)

I dont understand why on my office computer it works but not on my familly computer, both computer use factory profile from PrusaSlicer.

(I have completely formatted the pc and reinstalled windows and the problem persists, even on the alpha version )

I am tired and I realized that I was using the brush for the position of the seam rather than the supports...

I am seeing the same problem with prusa slicer 2.4.2. it does not generate paint-on support. There must be something not documented on how to make this work, or there might be some kind of default settings?

@msufilip : You paint on the parts you want to support (the overhang from below), not where you want the supports to start. What you did in your case will not work.

See: https://help.prusa3d.com/article/paint-on-supports_168584

If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.

Ahh, I see now. I had been switching between using Simplify3D ( which you can click From or To surface.. to create the support) and Prusa slicer.
Thank you very much

RE: The painted supports are not generated

As of today, I also noticed Enforcers are also not showing up for me on two of my files. When I draw Enforcers on my model with the handle it shows up, but the wide (warhead) model only has some of the Enforcer I drew show up. As you can see below I drew them on both models. I also am not on the brush for Seams.
