Switching from Cura to Prusa questions (LK5)
Hey,
Two questions:
1. I am switching to Prusa from Cura. I have most things functioning well, except for first layer. I am new to this so hoping maybe someone here can help me understand what I need to do.
My Cura slices work very well, however, when using my prusa slice with the same model my first layer comes out very poor. I think the issue is happening due to the extruder being slightly farther away from the bed when using the prusa profile. Would I just use z-offset to fix this?
2. Would it be a good idea to transfer my start/end g-code from my Cura profile to Prusa or just leave it as is? It's just the default that Cura has for my printer (LK5), which does not have an option on Prusa. Here is my code:
PRUSA:
Start
G28 ; home all axes G1 Z5 F5000 ; lift nozzle M413 S0 ; Disable power loss recovery
End:
M104 S0 ; turn off temperature G28 X0 ; home X axis M84 ; disable motors
CURA

RE: Switching from Cura to Prusa questions (LK5)
G1 X0 Y{machine_depth} ;Present print
I believe you will get an error with the Y set to that. For my LK5 Pro, I have that set to 300.
RE: Switching from Cura to Prusa questions (LK5)
Yeah PS doesn't know what {machine-depth} is as thats a CURA placeholder. You will have to do what CrunchBerry suggests and put the value in there for your machine.
All the other start/end code looks ok though.
RE: Switching from Cura to Prusa questions (LK5)
I know this is an old thread but I am having crazy issues switching from Cura to Prusa. Would someone mind posting their config file?
