Supportblock not working properly

Heyho Prusa-Community,

currently I'm trying to use support on only on the outside overhangs. Within that overhangs there are some holes for screws in which I don't want to have support, but when I'm adding support blockers to that holes they are ignored and they get filled up with support.

For that I added you some screenshots describing following:

01 Unsliced: The part with support (blue) and supportblocker (red) cylinder

02 Sliced: The complete model sliced

For the following pictures i adjusted the z-axis-bar to cut through the holes:

03 Sliced upper hole: Due to the support is not designed to this height no support can be observed in the holes.

04 Sliced middle hole: Here the support is completely withing the entire "length" of the hole (marked in red), what i definitely would not expect when I'm adding a supportblocker to it (compare with 01 red cylinders)

05 Sliced lower hole: Slightly the same problem, but not over the entire "length" of the hole (marked in red).

How can I force the Slicer to suppress support in regions where I have supportblocker?

Kind regards,
haum

Support don't block supports if the supports are already initiated. You can't use them to "slice" supports out of support structures that originated from a support enabler. So the blue enabler in your photo takes precedence over the support blockers.

In a case like this, your best option is to use paint-on supports for the regions where you do want supports and leave the holes untouched.

Ah, okay. Thanks for the hint. Next time I know what to do, but for now I just reconstructed the overhangs with 45° angles, so that i can print it completely without support.

That's the best design strategy if chamfers are possible.
