Support separation parameters (v. 2.4.0 -beta)
Just had an issue with removing supports in an internal small cavity sliced with the new beta version. In previous versions you could choose between 0.1 (for soluble filament supports) or 0.2 (for easier removal of same-material supports. This choice seems to be absent in this version, at least in the straight-forward choice previously offered. There seem to be a lot more option choices under the "Options for support material and raft" section than before. There IS an option labeled "XY separation between an object and its support:" But I don't see a similar option for vertical separation. The default value here (60%) produced a print in which the support structure in the small internal cavity (which measures about 10mm x 10mm x 3.5mm high) was almost impossible to remove without scaring the outside surface. A second print with supports de-selected was ALMOST acceptable, but the "roof" of the cavity was not pretty. I'll try another print increasing the value of the XY separation to 80% to see the effect, but Should I be looking at some of the other parameters?

Its still there. Called top contact z distance. Theres also a new one called bottom contact z distance. It used to be called contact z distance but now theres separate settings for top and bottom. The x/y separation is how far away from a perimeter on the layer to place it.

Don't know how I missed that! It's pretty obvious now that you point it out. Trying a new print now. Interesting that it defaults to 0.15mm. IIRC, before the default was zero. So, that SHOULD have helped, I'll see if the extra 0.05mm helps more.
