Support from second extruder.

I'm not using a prusa printer. Sorry about that.... it's a geeetech a10m.

I want the support printed from the second extruder. I see the settings to print support and interface from another extruder but I get an error saying soluble support isn't supported. Somehow I managed it the first time I tried but since then I've not been able to do it. What am I missing?

If memory serves me well, the prusa expects soluble filament to be in extruder 5, I guess you are trying to use extruder 2

@joantabb

Thanks, I'll go have a look at that now. If that works I'll make a virtual extruder. Although that doesn't explain how I managed it once. 😂

unfortunately that hasnt worked. i just want to print the support from extruder 2. its not soluble just pla. extruder 1 is petg. it slices with the purge bucket tool-change code but for some reason it doesn't slice very well. it has missing layers and trys to put support through the middle of it.

"The Wipe Tower currently supports the non-soluble supports only if they are printed with the current extruder without triggering a tool change. (both support_material_extruder and support_material_interface_extruder need to be set to 0)."

RE: Support from second extruder.

You don't need to use the dual extrusion wizard if you just want to change the extruder used for supports. To set everything up, follow this:

1) first, make sure you are using the stock S3D profile (Help > Configuration Assistant)
2) then set the extruder configuration to "Both Extruders walmartone"
3) go to the Supports tab and change the support extruder and dense support extruder (if using dense supports) to whatever you want

That's it! You don't need multiple processes for this simple setup
