Support enforcer not building support
I have a recess with a lip however the support enforcer only supports up to the lip.
Is this by design and some other support option is required or is it a defect.

Do you have don’t support bridges enabled ? Without seeing your model in full if the rest of the model connects that rim to the centre pillar then look at the colour coding of the slice, if it’s a light blue then it’s being detected as a bridge so doesn’t actually need support in most cases.
save your project (should save as a 3mf) and rename or zip it up and attach it here. We can then take a look to be certain. If it is being detected as a bridge then personally I’d try printing it as a lot of the time it will print fine. If you really really do want Support’s then you can disable bridge detection which should then make it add the support.

@neophyl
Thank you
"Don't Support Bridges' was enabled and it was under the maximum bridging distance.
I hadn't realised the significance of the light blue
