Can you add just one support area to a project? My son is trying to print a mermaid figurine and she has one hand extended but down. the hand is over the base so cannot do a plate only support. When we do support everywhere the hand broke as support was really thick for the rest of her body. Any help would be apparated

Yes, you can either use 'paint on' supports in PS or use support blockers to remove anto-generated supports where you do not want them.
