Strange problem with supports in PS

I have a model that slices without issue if supports are turned off, it also slices without issues if I turn on support on the build plate only, but when I  paint supports on the only area the requires supports, I get the empty layers error.  I even tried loading PS 2.3.3 to no avail.

Hello Dik,

I had a look at your model and have no idea what’s going on there. I would simply redesign that area requiring the support.

Is there any specific reason for this particular design? Planning on stacking those units?

Thanks,

Majo

I have already cut that part off at a 45degree angle, so not a problem anymore.  Still think it is a bug that will be very difficult to pin down.

Huh, I'm not getting any errors with 2.4-beta4:

If it was a bug looks like it's fixed now.

2.4 also allows you to use snug supports, which in this case look a bit nicer. Also, I would set the top contact Z distance to 0.25 or 0.2. 0.1 will be much harder to remove. I found that 0.25 usually comes off very easily with little scarring of the surface.

@dik-harrison

I added support in two areas that needed a bit and the warning went away.

Use it if you like, but PS 2.4 rc 2 is not ready for prime time.

Good Luck
