Straight EASY lines for Seams or Supports where to find this ? 2.9.2

HI All  ,

There is nothing more frustrating than having to search for a simple thing for hours, I'm sorry but my ADHD would tear apart any software engineer who wrote the operating instructions. Because the mistake is that the engineer relies on what he knows and his mind thinks that others know it too , so sometimes it is almost impossible to find something , in Bambu lab softwre is drawing the seam line as a straight line and here in prusa slicer is not this and it is very necessary , I saw some tutorial but it was from version 2. 5.0 and it does not work on the latest version, so how to find the Order of walls print sequence or is it not needed in prusa?

sorry for frustration

RE:

I looked up on YT how the bambu users do it and they just use Esc during the tool use. Tested in PS and it works the same. Not surprising since BS is a fork of PS. Essentially close the tool mid-use and then re-enter and complete the line. Same original principals of using the Alt key, just a little different.

  1. enter the seam painter (P)
  2. click and hold mouse button at the start point
  3. close seam painter (P or Esc)
  4. let go of the mouse button
  5. re-enter seam painter (P or click icon)
  6. [click and then slight drag] or [click and then middle mouse button] at end point
  7. voila, line

I don't know how to get it to work continuously like you could in the old method, so you'll have to set a new start point at the previous end point if you're trying to draw more than a single straight line.

It does work the same way with the other tools but they have different hotkeys. Hotkeys are shown in the tool's window titlebar between square brackets: L for supports, N for painter, H for fuzzyskin.

@bartp

Try this method, it works great for me

A quote for the author .

If your using PrusaSlicer 2.9.0 or higher, the Alt key functionality was removed by the Developers. However, the mouse only technique (My personal favorite) works wonderfully and for all paint tools including Fuzzy skin. The explanation starts at 9:35 in the video.

Works well in 2.9, and is easier then having to Esc each time.

Regards
