Stop support interface extending so far?

Why does the support interface extend so far outside of the part?

It's making things that are almost the full size of the bed be unable to fit on the bed. I realise it's the skirt thats making it not fit but this is just an image so I can point out what I am talking about.

Is there any way of changing this?

Because support generation in PS is really aggressive.  That's what it does at the moment.
PS 2.4  when it is released is supposed to be addressing many of the support issues.  We will have to see how well once it is out.  Unless you want to build it from source to get a preview 🙂

You can try and adjust the support spacing values (Pattern Spacing  = make smaller) and XY separation between object and support but they are limited in effectiveness but it depends on your model.

If you use a support enforcer in from the edge ( more than you would think) the outside supports will disappear. It’s a tricky adjustment.
