Splitting to Parts then regrouping?

Hello all,

I just bought a new 3d Printer that came with Prusaslicer.  I have watched many youtube videos so I am up on many of the features available.  I have been using the slicer successfully for about a week now but I am having an issue with one thing.  I am using my printer to make logos of sports teams.  Basically taking SVGs and disecting them, importing to tinkercad, and them ultimately into Prusaslicer.  I am printing all of the detailes mirrored on the first 2 layers.  The issue I have is some of the logos are very intricate.  After importing maybe 6 STL files into PrusaSlicer, I then split the model into parts/objects (I forgot the exact term but it keeps the model together).  Once I split the model I may end up with 100 parts.  I then need to group these parts into the various colors they are going to be.  This is where I am getting stuck.  I re-label every part to the appropriate color but it becomes very tedious to toggle on and off the various parts for slicing purposes.  I have tried various ways to regroup the parts where I would still have the ability to toggle them on and off to slice them.  So far I have had no luck.  It would be awesome to only have to toggle the original 6 files, but I am not aware of a way to do that.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Ryan

It is a bit hard to understand the issue. But...
Maybe this idea helps:
- Just copy your model as many times as you have colors.
- then split them, so you have objects with sub-objects
- delete all what does NOT belong to that color.
You will end up with a model per color.

To print all, make a printer profile with more colors. (search on the forum how to print in more colors, there are very nice explanations for that).
PS: Tip: Keep 1 sub-oject (or maybe add a box) in all models. Just to adjust all models to they are exact on the spot you need them.
Then delete these subojects.
PS2: Be sure there are no sub-object of different models on the same place. The printer cannot double a print on the same place!

We will do what we have always done. We will find hope in the impossible.

Ok.  I am following what you are saying my only question is once I have split the model and grouped everything, is there a way to restack all of the parts on top of eachother so that they would all print in the same place on the build plate.

For a little more clarity I am building logo with multiple colors using one extruder.  So I have multiple color changes on most of the models via one extruder.  I am essentially following this youtube guide ( ).   The problem I am having is I have some very small/fine detailing with multiple colors.  That is not part of the video.

RE: Splitting to Parts then regrouping?

1. Split to parts
2. Add "adjusting part" (in example cube in the left upper corner, Generic Box)
3. Copy
4. Remove Unwanted parts
5. Use Object Manipulation (right column) to place left uppercorners of both exactly on same spot) (150.77 107.67)
6. Remove Generic Boxes
7. Done

We will do what we have always done. We will find hope in the impossible.
