Speed settings as it relates to the LCD panel

When adjusting the speed of a print on the LCD panel, how does that relate to the speed set in the slicer? For instance, if my perimeter speed is set to 50 in the slicer and I slow the speed down to 70% on the LCD panel, is the initial speed setting now 35 (70% of 50)  or is it 70% of 100? Hopefully my question makes sense 🙂

That's the first and only question I ever posted here, the answer was so good it made me want to stay and help.

Excellent, thank you!  That helps a lot. That Bob is one hell of a guy. I've learned so much from his posts and website.

So in theory since I am using Bob's start G-Code I can just set the speed reset in the g-code to m220 s70 for this particular preset?
