Some layers not lining up when slicing

I purchased an STL file for a token holder and all looks well in the editor:

However, when I go to slice it, some of the layers don't make it all the way to the edge:

I don't see any errors listed in the STL. I tried repairing it anyways using the 'Fix by Windows repair algorithm' option and got No errors detected. When I go into slicer view again, it appears to be worse (many more layers not making it to the edge:

The layers aren't listed as overhangs. Is this just an artifact in view mode? I have never seen anything like this before. It's only a few hours of print time so I guess I can try to print it, but would rather save the filament if it will indeed try to slice like this. It was a file I purchased, and have seen videos where people have seemingly printed the same file without issue.

The other thing to try is change from Arachne to Classic.  The default Arachne settings can have issues with thin sections like that.  Often changing the arachne settings can also alleviate the problem but thats a more trial and error process unlike just changing back to classic slicing.

Same basic problem reported here https://github.com/prusa3d/PrusaSlicer/issues/8555 or https://github.com/prusa3d/PrusaSlicer/issues/11463 or https://github.com/prusa3d/PrusaSlicer/issues/12713 or... you get the idea 🙂

RE: Some layers not lining up when slicing

it's possible that the wall thickness is too small. this may make  the model fragile...

you could try reducing the external perimeter extrusion thickness (but this will make the model even more fragile)

or you could try modifying the 'XY Size compensation' value

this will artificially thicken the walls of the box...   which will also make the walls less fragile
or you could print the box with a smaller nozzle, which would increase the print duration time.
or you could try enlarging the model slightly...
Or re model the model with thicker walls... but that defeats buying the model...
