small gaps on unretraction spots in slicing preview and in real print produces bad surface
Hi!
I had a problem with bad surfaces in certain areas of a print. When examining the slicing preview, small gaps can be seen in this area. The gaps in the slicing preview seem to have to do with unretractions and clearly correlate with the print.
Every setting was tested, the only setting that changed this behaviour is to alter the "seam position", but then the gaps are on an other place, but still there.
Any idea, what causes the gaps?

That is your seam. Its an unavoidable part of fdm printing. You can play around with retraction settings, extra length on restart etc to reduce the effect but they are best minimised by tuning your filament settings on a per filament basis. Its very time consuming to get that level of tuning.
The slicer as you have discovered can be set to adjust where the seam goes and on default it will generally try and hide it in a corner where its not noticeable but for shapes like on your model there aren't any corner edges to do that.
If you don't want seams then get a resin printer basically.
