slicing

hi, newbie here, I have been printing aircraft from 3d labprint but some g codes are a bit messy, I tried the prusa slicer 2.1.1 super results then I noticed on some parts only the shell was being sliced, tried some more prints with internal structures and found I am only slicing the shell and not the insides, don't confuse with infill, I am refuring to orginal code structures, ie place part on plate and all parts are there, inside and out, then slice and the internal part are lost leaving the outer shell. any help please, warm regards gary

RE: slicing

Gary have a read through this thread - https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/prusaslicer/slicing-rc-plane-wing/

From other threads I've followed both here and on github the 3dlab models aren't really correct in structure and rely on quirks of slicers to work properly rather than something that is properly manifold etc.  I believe this is to cut down on weight but the problem is that if slicers are changed then those quirks aren't necessarily valid anymore.

RE: slicing

According to other discussions I've read both here and on github, the 3dLab models don't actually have the correct structural details and depend on peculiarities of slicers to function rather than being properly manifold, etc. I think the purpose of this is to reduce weight, however the issue is that if slicers are modified, then those idiosyncrasies may no longer be applicable.

Good morning Reichel,
could you please be more specific, showing examples of what you understand, or examples of the STL's that demonstrate these issues.

regards Joan

Joan the above post from Reichel looks like a reworded version of mine.   Probably some bot.
