slicing multiple instances of object

I'm having problems when I try to print more than two or three copies of the same object.  The object is best described as a hollow cylinder 2.5 inches in diameter and about 4 inches tall.  When I get to four or more instances, after around twenty layers, one of the objects loses adhesion, slides into the others, and creates a cascading mess.

I am wondering if this is a symptom similar to warping, where one model cools because the hot end is spending time in another area of the print.  Is there a way to have the slicer move between objects more frequently, printing parts of infill of one and then moving to another, rather than focusing on one instance at a time, helping to keep the temperature consistent across the print area?

I am printing with PLA at 215C and a 60C textured print bed.

thank you

A lot of it is statistics:

If a part has a 10% chance of failing then 9 out of ten singles will succeed.

But what if you print them twenty at a time ...  recipe for disaster.

OTOH if it's always the part placed in the same place on the bed that fails then bed cleaning with special attention to that spot is in order.

Cheerio,

RE:

First and foremost you need good adhesion, that is a clean and grease free bed and correctly set first layer calibration (I think I saw one or two threads about this here on the forum somewhere...)

If bed adhesion is optimal there are some things to tweak to make collisions with material less likely: Use "lift z" option (Printer->extruder) with 0.4-0.6mm, use "Avoid crossing perimeters" option (Print->Layers and perimeters) and use a non crossing infill (like gyroid, see: https://blog.prusa3d.com/everything-you-need-to-know-about-infills_43579/  )

If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.
Find out why this is pinned in the general section!
