Slicing large STL file

Hello All
I have designed a boat which measures around 1M x  500mm x 600mm. This has been saved to a .STL file and will be 3D printed on a custom 3d Resin printer.
Anyone knows how to slice with PrusaSlicer.? I load this Stl file into Prusa but get an error message saying that the Stl is too big for the plater. I cannot see any menu to make a custom plater or enlarge the build plate size. Any help her perhaps? Keep well

RE: Slicing large STL file

Hello
Thank you for your reply. I created a custom printer and bed. I sliced the stl file successfully. But I need to export the zip file and not GCode. The zip file will have all the image sliced files. How do I let prusa treat my custom as a SLA printer and not fdm?

Load a predefined SLA printer, make copy of the profile and modify that to suit.

Yes, I tried that, but there is no way you can edit a predefined bed size. However, it is possible that I am overlooking something here. But I just cant do it.

The first entry under Printer Settings > General

You might need to be in Advanced mode. You must be working with a copy.  There is an upper limit but it's much larger than current printers and if that isn't enough it's probably liftable with a recompile.

RE: Slicing large STL file

Thank you for your guidance. However, I have just started using PrusaSlicer and I have no idea how to go about making a copy of a SLA printer. The menus just don't make sense regarding custom printers. I tried to search for some walkthrough for such a task, but could not get anything even near this. Basically I just need to slice my big model for my custom built Top Down resin printer using a projector.
I wrote my own program to control the projector as well as the Z axis using a simple microcontroller and a stepper motor.
I had managed to use a s small sliced model and enlarge it via the projector but the problem was that the bigger the image gets, the resolution and detail fails. This is precisely the reason that I need a larger batch of sliced images which will not need to be "blown-up"  to my desired size. I hope that I am making sense.

Open PS and select the printer nearest to the new one in configuration.  Click on the cogwheels icon, go to the Printer Settings tab, edit the name in the writeable field at top left and save the setting with a new name by clicking the Save Preset button next to the name field.

You now have a new, copy, preset you can edit as required.

That process is not quite correct.  Add the closest SLA printer using the add printer wizard.  There are only 2, either the SL1 or the SL1S Speed.  Make sure you are in Expert Mode (located top right, green=Simple, yellow=Advanced and Red = Expert).  The change to the Printer Settings tab.  This should show you the settings defined for the Printer you installed.
Built in profiles can not be edited.  So use the little disk icon (Save) next to the profile name dropdown near the top.  At point it will append -copy to the existing name but you can change it to whatever you want as long is its not the same as any system profile.

You now have your editable copy as Diem mentions.  Once you have that you can then set the bed size and Max print height as well as other physical printer settings.  For SLA as well as the bed size you will also need to define how many pixels and display width etc.  As you seem to have a completely custom printer that will be up to you to figure out.

Once you have made your changes then you just click the same save disk icon to save them.

Be aware that PS doesn't output a stack of png's though.  The only resin printer output officially supported is the format the SL1 printers use.  I believe people have to use a post processor to use PS with other brands of SLA printer.

Well spotted @neophyl, I was forgetting that the OP might not have one ready to copy.

Thank you for all your assistance. I manged to make my custom size. The slices can be exported to a ZIP file of *.png image files. This is perfect. Only problem now is how do I tell Prusa to slice from the side I choose? It seems to slice from a default view.
