Slicer will not startup.
Just upgraded my computer to W10 (clean install). Installed Prusa Slicer which went OK but cannot get the program to start or run. Tried an uninstall and reinstall but no joy.
Other applications work OK.
Anyone have any suggestions as to what could be the problem.
Thanks.
RE: Slicer will not startup.
Any error messages? Does it try to load at all?
RE: Slicer will not startup.
No. Double clicking the icon justs shows a brief circle by the cursor then nothing.

Try to run "as administrator".

RE: Slicer will not startup.
I did try that as well. Same.
RE: Slicer will not startup.
Does it show up in Task Manager? If so does it stay there once the circle "working..." thing goes?
RE: Slicer will not startup.
No it wasn't running in Task Manager when I checked although TM wasn't open originally. I checked once there was no response.
I will check this tomorrow by starting with TM open.
RE: Slicer will not startup.
OK. Started Task Manager and watched for any activity in Processes. There was nothing at all.
Eben tried running directly from the C:\Program Files\Prusa3D folder. Still nothing.
Pronterface runs OK.
BTW the slicer runs fine on my W10 laptop.

@neale-b
Probably, as is so often the case, this is a driver problem - network, port, graphics card drivers.
Are they all up to date?

RE: Slicer will not startup.
Yes. I ran the Dell Support Assist app again which checks and verified that everything is up to date.
Checking the Device driver lists shows no problems.
Has to be a setting somewhere so I have raised a case with Dell pro support to see if they can also help. They assisted me during the W10 install.
Never had this happen before so it is really odd.
I do appreciate your questions and suggestions of things to try.
RE: Slicer will not startup.
restart may be slove the problem
RE: Slicer will not startup.
I have actually restarted several times during investigating the problem. Unfortunately makes no differerence.
RE: Slicer will not startup.
I think I have solved the problem.
Altough the system was fully up to date including all device drivers, Windows updates etc.,, today I received a new MS notification that W10 version release 2004 was now available. I don't usually install major releases straight away just in case but though why not I have nothing to lose.
Now prusa Slicer starts and works as does another application (Fusion 360) which exhibited the same problem. So whatever was wrong seesm to have been corrected by the update.
Thank you to those that offered suggestions as to fixes.
Regards to all.

@neale-b
Congratulations!
And once again an update brings the system to life 👍
