slicer produces perimeters that don't exist

Models from Fusion 360 occasionally slice with profiles that should not be there.model as it appears in Slic3r

model as it appears in fusion 360

Anyone know what's causing this?

Your pictures arent showing.  Besides the only real way to debug these properly is to attach your files.    Could you please attach a saved project file from Slicer (File>save project as).  Then zip up the .3mf file or the forum wont accept the file.  You could also include the stl but the project will contain it anyway as well as all your slicing settings.

Sorry pictures aren't showing. This is one of the worst interfaces I've ever seen. I've made a zipped version of a simple mdf file showing the problem, but cannot seem to upload it. Can't upload pictures, can't attach the zip file. Then problem is intermittent, btw, it will show in one file, then not in another slice of the same file (using the same settings). It's very frustrating and I'd love to share it with you.

Think I've found the problem. Don't know whether this is a bug. My understanding was that a rotated model will snap to the printer "bed", so to speak. And indeed, so long as I'm within a degree or so of 180 to the bed, this happens. But if I'm a little more out, the snap does not take place and Slic3r creates the partial extra perimeter. I've found I can now create this at will.

Prusa slicer puts objects in contact with the bed but it doesn’t change the orientation while doing so. Not automatically. You have to use the place face on bed tool located on the left hand tool bar for that.
Without a picture or the project it’s very hard to visualise what you are describing.

Thanks much. Your explanation dovetails nicely with what I'm seeing. So the "problem" has gone away....
