Slicer 2.9 need help just learning the software, any guidance would be greatly appreciated

Cut part held off the plate when I release the cursor it snapped back to the plate I need these two pieces oriented like this as one part

2.9 is an early alpha, a test release; if you are new, avoid it.  The latest stable release is 2.8.1 and suitable for general use.

Seems like only a handful of gurus really know PrusaSlicer.  Documentation is generally outdated, incomplete, inaccurate.  I love it for most simple prints, but learning how to work with constantly evolving profiles has been very hit and miss.  Given that PrusaSlicer is the cornerstone of ALL Prusa printers, you’d think they would give it the documentation it deserves.
