Slicer 2.5.2 crashes upon opening

I cannot get Slicer to open. Has anyone experienced the bellow messages and have a solution?

Immediately upon opening: "Unhandled unknown exception; Terminating the application"

The only option is to click "ok" on the above message and then this message immediately pops up: "Internal error: Calling AppConfig::save() from a worker thread!" and the program automatically closes.

HP Zbook, 11th gen Intel Core i7 processor, 32-gb ram, Windows 10 Pro (build 21H2)

Any help is greatly appreciated. This is my first 3d printer. Thank you in advance.

This is happening with both versions (Standalone and ??) as well as the G-code viewer.

https://github.com/prusa3d/PrusaSlicer/issues/9420   supposed to be fixed in the commit referenced in that github issue, which I think means one of the 2.6 versions.

As its related to nvidia graphics cards/drivers usually you could try one of the workarounds mentioned on github.

RE:

@neophyl thank you for that github link. After much trial and error, I have gotten it to open. Had to change both Windows app graphics card selection AND specify iGPU in the Nvidia Control Panel along with the "Auto select 3D".

Issue still not resolved on 2.5.x (should be able to run on dedicated GPU), but have the program working. Will wait till 2.6.x is officially released.
