Sicer issue... part of the piece is "shifted"

Hi,

I'm new to 3D printing, and I use Prusa slicer with an old Geetech machine.

Today I succeeded to print relatively well a side for a spool holder (STL on Prusa 3D models, Mini-base-spoolholder.stl).
But the upper part is shifted about 2mm. Geometry is correct, but not aligned with the base.
The two small cylinders made to hold the bearings are also shifted.

So this is the upper layer which is faulty.I checked the STL, and everything seems to be OK.

Could the slicer make such errors?? Parameters are standard, and nothing special in the configuration could explain this.
Also the print visualisation did not show such weird behaviour.
This could come from the printer, but the shift seems too clean for that ??

Thanks for your help.

There is a close to zero chance it's a slicer issue. Much more likely a physical issue with the printer, ranging from belt issues to hitting a physical obstacle (frame or infill). Or potentially a corrupted storage medium but less likely given the appearance.

what fuchsr said.

Load the gcode into slicer-viewer: Is the shift visible? If so: Congratulations, it's a slicer error. If not: Check the grub screws on the motor shaft (or your printer's equivalent) and the belt tension.

Hi friends,

You're right.
Prusa G-code viewer showed no error.
So I have to investigate with the printer: belts, cleanliness of the guides...

What puzzled me is that the shift is so well done.
A close examination of the print shows that there was already a small shift (< 1/2 mm) on the 2 or 3 last layers of the base.
And then, a bigger shift as can bee seen on the snapshot.

Thanks for help. I did not use yet the G-code viewer, it's a nice tool.

Well, next step is to buy a Prusa printer!! This will be done for my birthday/Christmas, and most probably this will be a MK4 kit. A little bit expensive, but so many features!
My son il law owns a mini, and he convinced me that Prusa is the best buy!!!
