set default printer /extruder mk3s / mmu2s

servus, maybe I' ve overseen it, but how to set the default printer extruder? I'd like to have the MMu2 filament 5 as standard. It looks that only filament 1 is always taken by default and this can't be changed.

not a big issue, but would help to optimize my filament change management 🙂

thanks

PS: you are doing great!

Hi Werner,

If you use an MMU single  profile in Prusa Slicer, you can choose which filament to use, off the LCD!

Hi Joan, thanks I know, but if you print more than one object , you have to do this per object . context menu not working for a group/ >1 object.

this is the boring activity. as said no big deal, but maybe simple to "correct" in a new slicer version.

Hi Werner,

Not sure what you are trying to do!   are you trying to print a number of items in the same filament, but choose the filament from Printer  LCD menu when you start the print

or are you trying to select individual filaments for several models on the same build plate, from the LCD Menu?

Alternatively, are you having difficulty allocating filaments to models in Prusa Slicer?

If you have several copies of the same model, they need to be the same filament, if you want them to be different fialments' then they  need to originate from different imports

the Two Maroon models are instances of the first item, set to use filament 5,

the Two Blue models are instances of the second item, set to use filament 2.

if you wanted all four models to be different filaments, you would need to import them as four separate items

Hi Joan, thanks for you quick reply. I've just found out that slicer alpha2 2.2 is supporting the context menu incl. Extruder setting. Thus my "wish" has been fullfilled 🙂

but I'm still not sure what defines the "Standard" , is it always Extruder 1 ?  But as said, with the context feature I can live with that.
