Rookie question - failed print, can I start a second print at layer x then glue the pieces together...
I had a print that failed about half way through due to a filament blob causing a crash detection.
For this device it does not need to be pretty so I am wondering if I can print the second half and then glue them together.
I suppose I could go into my modeler (Autodesk Fusion 360 free) and cut the object and print that just as if if was a new object but... to save time, is there a way in prusa slicer to just re-slice it from a layer #?

Check out PrusaSlicers "Cut" function (Shortcut "C" in the Editor View)

Thank you @lw36

Yes you can do this, just make sure to use proper glue that can bind both parts.
Instead of the cutting I would suggest using negative volume https://help.prusa3d.com/article/negative-volume_238503
so that you add a box, scale it accordingly and then when sliced it will not be applied, you may need to turn the item upside down or experiment to avoid floating the print in the mid air.

I added my negative volumes to trim the part I am willing to sacrifice but I am not getting the ability to slice now. Ah, I see your help link and will read that now.
If the help works I will come back here and delete this post.

Couldn't edit the post above. This is a different object than I was originally printing but a similar problem.
I wanted to just trim the object and sacrifice some of it to get it within the bounding box. I added the two negative volumes for the volume I am willing to sacrifice but PrusaSlicer is still complaining about exceeding the bounding box and won't let me slice it.

for that use case it's better to use cutting function, and if needed apply negative volumes
