Random question about how slicer generates supports
This is really a general question, based on something after cleaning up supports on a print.
I have this model which is symmetrical and I wanted supports on two posts.
All fine and the print was perfect, but when I was removing the supports I noticed that they were different.
The support on the left, has three individual "towers", while the one on the right is "hatched".
I've changed the model a bit, but going back into the slicer and it did the same thing (just a bit smaller).
Being a symmetrical design, I would have thought that the supports would just be mirrored, and hence the completely random: "What.. why did it do that"? 😀
