PrusaSlicer won't create support structures
Hi,
I'm pretty new to the whole 3D-printing thing, so please excuse any dumb questions.
I'm trying to print the model below. But I need some support at the top end of the model, which PrusaSlicer doesn't create for some reason. What should I do? I've tried pretty much every setting.
RE: PrusaSlicer won't create support structures
Check to make sure Print Settings->Support material->Options for support material and raft->Support on build plate only is not checked. Looking at your screen, it does look as if it's set to "Everywhere" (Ueberall). If you save your part and settings off in a 3MF project file, zip it, and attach it to a reply here, we can offer better suggestions.

Hi Oneg.
Have you tried turning supports on?
this is the easiest way to turn supports on
or you can turn supports on in this menu
and if you move to Prusa Slicer 2.3.0RC2 you can use painted supports as well

Thank you for the quick reply. "Support on build plate only" is already disabled.
Here's the model as .3mf.

@joantabb
It's already activated.

Please do as Bob requested and save your project as a 3mf, zip it up into an archive and attach it here. It must be zipped or the forum wont accept the file type.
With the project 3mf file we can slice it with the exact same settings you are using. Its the best and most efficient way of debugging issues like this.

I already answered on his reply and uploaded the file. The post is still awaiting moderation tho.

RE: PrusaSlicer won't create support structures
I'm sorry but you didn't attach it as a zip to the forum, its a google drive file that requires access. I hope Bob or Joan can help you. Good luck.
RE: PrusaSlicer won't create support structures
@neophyl
Everyone who has the link should have access to the file.
When I'm trying to attach a .zip, .rar or .3mf through forums it doesn't upload due to security reasons.
RE: PrusaSlicer won't create support structures
When I clicked the link it took me to a page where it wanted my details so I could request access to the file. As such I decided not to proceed.
If the forum isn’t accepting zip files now then I’m afraid I’m about done with it then. It’s hard enough responding to replies when you don’t get notified and when you do the link takes you to the wrong place. If they have messed up even the very limited allowance for zip files then it’s going to become almost impossible to help on this forum.
As I said previously, good luck but I don’t see how I can help further.
RE: PrusaSlicer won't create support structures
I got some odd Wordfence block earlier today trying a regular post.

Would you please try this link. I uploaded it to OneDrive. Downloading from there should work without logging in.
I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi, Neophyl, the forum accepted my zip files earlier, but I am a moderator. if you find this is still a problem, please let me know. and I will escalate it

I downloaded your project file. Support were set to none when I first loaded it. After setting supports to "everywhere", it sliced as expected. I can see from your screenshot that you also had supports set to "everywhere", so I'm not sure why it won't slice for you. I am running PrusaSlicer 2.3.0-rc3 on MacOS.

RE: PrusaSlicer won't create support structures
I am using v2.2.0. There are no updates. Could you please send me your support settings? Maybe I made a mistake there.
Supports are also set to "everywhere" for me.
RE: PrusaSlicer won't create support structures
Nevermind, I just did a full reset of PrusaSlicer. Everything works fine now. No idea what caused that problem.

@oneg36
I had the same issue. If you take out the tick from "Don't support bridges", it generates the support ... or at least, it did for mine!

This didn't fix the issue either. Only way to get it working was a full reset of PrusaSlicer.
Unable to add supports in PrusaSlicer 2.3.3 (macOS)
I'm having the same issue with supports not being added to Prusa Slicer 2.3.3 on macOS. Supports > Everywhere is selected. How would I go about doing a full reset of PrusaSlicer? Or is that simply a reinstall?
