Prusaslicer Change Extruder N/A

I have an mk3s+ and an MMU2s I used to be able to use the paint option on purse slicer for part of a model then on the other half after slicing use the change extruder option to have the rest print in one solid color and now that option is grayed out and Says N/A anyone know what's going on

Same issue here with PrusaSlicer 2.6, trying to apply color change without painting or M600.

I tried to uncheck the Single Extruder MM check box - same thing.

Also this article appears to be invalid, latest Prusa 2.6 has no such settings - https://help.prusa3d.com/article/patterns-set-extruder-sequence_124725

Looks like all your objects have to have the same extruder assigned to them in order for "Extruder change" option to be allowed.

RE:

This was driving me nuts. Thank you for this thread.
Maybe it's just me, but this feels a bit counterintuitive that all the objets must have the same extruder assigned to be able to apply an extruder change to any of those... I underestand that the slicer treats the color changes as manual filament swaps and so it's stated in the linked blog posts. And that would be easy and straightforward if you wouldn't need to change the filament profile along its color (Which is usually the case if you're working with different filaments). Does anybody know if there any way to change the filament profile and not just its shown color?
