PrusaSlicer 2.8.1 regression in ruler scroll wheel behaviour (1 mm vs. 1 layer)

In prior releases, using the mouse scroll wheel on the vertical ruler would adjust the layer preview by +/- 1 layer. Now in v2.8.1 it is adjusting the view by +/- 1 mm! I can only adjust by single layers by grabbing the handle any trying to drag the handle up/down by tiny increments. This is progressively more challenging the taller the object.

I cannot find any mention if this being intended new behaviour, and I cannot find any preferences to control it, so it seems like a regression to me.

I can see some advantage to being able to scroll through the entire layer preview quickly sometimes, so maybe this could be an option?

RE:

I always selected it with a mouse and then used arrow keys, layer by layer in vertical or gcode line per line in horizontal one.

My scrollwheel still does one layer at a time with 2.8.1

I just checked mine too.  With version 2.8.1 on windows 10 the scroll wheel on my mouse also scrolls 1 layer at a time.  Interestingly enough IF I hold down control or shift and scroll it then moves 1mm at a time.

This happened here too, pretty annoying. but now it's working fine. don't know if the latest update fixed or it happens in some occasions only

double annoying is when i click and drag up, sometimes i pass the end and stop at the search bar, then the search popup appears ;D

Now it's back again, jumping sometimes a layer, sometimes o switch between programs, and go back being by a milimeter. super weird

will try to find a way to make repeatable.

got it! just open prusa slicer, add part, slice, if using scroll, goes 1 milimiter at time

PRESS ALT once, click and scroll again, now it's layer by layer

Doesn't do that for me at all.  For me if I start PS, load cube, slice and then use scroll wheel over the slider and its 1 layer at a time.  In fact pressing Alt once actually stops the slider from moving as Alt highlights the top menus and Underlines the first letters.  I have to press alt a second time to move the focus back to the platter so that the slider will scroll again.

This is with Win 10.  As I mentioned earlier to get 1mm movement I have to hold down cntrl or shift.  So what sort of keyboard or mouse do you have and on what OS ?  There have been all sorts of issues in the past with keyboard drivers causing problems.
