Prusaslicer 2.7 Support Painter Ignored

I've only had this issue pop up in the newer versions of Prusaslicer, which have more complex models. When applying support blockers to certain areas, the program ignores the commands and places supports there anyway. It's not a huge issue, but I want to save materials and simplify the prints as much as possible. Using different tools and sizes of tools does not seem to change anything. It is a consistent issue and is not rectified when restarting the program or restarting the model. Has anyone run into this issue?

I've attached some photos; some help or at least more awareness on this issue would be greatly appreciated!

You will need to attach a prusa slicer project file that demonstrates the issue.  Use File>Save project as.  The take the 3mf and ZIP it up and attach it here.  Must be zipped or the forum will just silently not attach it.

A PS 3mf will have the model and all the settings as well as the painted areas etc all within it.  Its the only way to really examine all the variables.

Its possible that some faces are going to be intersecting and as such you will never been able to get to them with the brush tools, most likely.  When you use support everywhere, that is set by angle and that will include faces you cant see or paint.  You see it will models that aren't perfectly constructed, those with overlapping or intersecting faces due to their geometry.  Not just with blockers but all the paint tools.

Theres a few things you can do.
-Use the sphere brush as that can catch things deeper inside.  Not my top choice though.  You still cant tell if you have caught everything.
-Use the old fashioned method of using a modifier mesh of type blocker.  As that intersects a whole area it can include 'hidden' faces too.  Its use depends on the geometry though as to how easy/effective it is.  They can be a pain to place.  Painting was added for a reason lol.
- Use Support for Enforcers Only and then paint those areas you specifically want to have support.  This is my go to method and I find gives me greater control.  I pretty much never use a blocker anymore as by defining where to support means you don't need to.

Also something to be aware of is that PS doesn't handle obj perfectly.  there are several issues around that file format.  It seems to be picky about how they are constructed sometimes.  You could try exporting your model as a stl and try painting that.  As I say without the project to work with anything is just best guess.

Thank you for the quick reply; I will try out those suggestions. I had no idea about the intersecting faces; I'm assuming that is the issue as this is only present on the complex models I print.
