PrusaSlicer 2.7.0 final release is out

Hello all;

We are happy to announce that Prusa Slicer 2.7.0 is now in "final" release. The latest update is now included in the apps and driver package for all printers.

Summary

This is the stable release of PrusaSlicer 2.7.0, introducing SVG emboss, binary G-codes, ramping travels, support for G2/G3 G-codes, support for Cancel object function and much more. It also fixes many bugs. Please, read the change log of 2.7.0-alpha12.7.0-beta12.7.0-rc1 and 2.7.0-rc2 for complete list of changes with respect to 2.6.1.

If any of the PrusaSlicer 2.7.0 alphas or betas was used before on the same machine, PrusaSlicer 2.7.0 will offer to import such alpha or beta configuration when it is first executed.

Bugs fixed with respect to 2.7.0-rc2

  • When selecting a printer in Configuration Wizard and exiting it using the 'Finish' button without selecting any filaments, the default filaments for the printer were not installed.
  • Physical printers using the alpha profiles in 2.7.0 prerelease versions did not show after the alpha designation was removed (#11727).
  • Fixed a crash sometimes occurring when using the sliders in Preview (#11728).

You can download Prusa Slicer 2.7.0 at the following;

RE: PrusaSlicer 2.7.0 final release is out

Hello everyone!

There are some very nice improvements in the latest version of the Slicer!

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to generate qr codes on Ubuntu 22.04 that would import correctly (aka usable qr code) on Prusa Slicer 2.7.0. I have tried using the inline qrencode command with various argument combinations and the me-qr website, the latter was also tried on MacOS Monterrey (12.7.1) without success. Could you suggest some QR code generators?

Thanks in advance!

Is there any way to revert to 2.6? I don't want to flash firmware at this time.

Still no single perimeter on top layer? Working on a lot of cool new features but we are asking for some simple features and.... still waiting, hope PrusaSlicer 3.0 will include this...

RE:

Just uninstall it and install 2.6, but when you install 2.7 you have the option to no install the drivers for flashing so you can use 2.7 and not flash if you don't want to

RE:

I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this

I'm wondering if PrusaSlicer is planning to add arc overhangs in the future
i already have a post-processing script for arc overhangs but it's a lot more involved to get working

arc overhangs allow for 90* overhangs to be printed without supports and are very handy
i feel arc overhangs would be an extremely revolutionary feature if they were in the next PrusaSlicer release

Hi Matt,
Have  look on the Prusa Slicer Github page to see if Arc Overhangs are on their development list,
if it's not on there, raise a request.

regards Joan

What does this mean when attempting to install 2.7.0?

RUNTIME ERROR  (at 158:166):

Internal error. An attempt was made to expand the "app" constant before it was initialized

Hi all,

does anyone have a workflow to generate qr codes as svg that works with svg embossing of the new versions of Prusaslicer, I've been looking for it everywhere on the internet, focusing on some creators and known 3d printing websites, but I wasn't able to find any more info.

Thanks in advance

Not sure if I should post this here - please excuse my ignorance...

Today I noticed in v2.7.2 that "shift-button Slice now" in Sidebar does not correctly insert material and estimated printing time in the filename of the to-be-exported G-code, but instead inserts {variable}, as in ...
modelfilename_0.2mm_{printing_filament_types}_MK3SMMU2S_{print_time}.gcode

... or am I doing something odd?

When you make the next version would you be able to make it so xy compensation works when you run dual extrusion? Maybe there is a way to do this that I can’t find, if so can you help me?
