Greetings all 

With the great feedback we were able to discover and correct several bugs in the last beta upgrade. We are happy to announce PrusaSliver 2.6.0 Beta 2

Summary

​This is the second beta release of PrusaSlicer 2.6.0, fixing the most critical bugs found in beta1. See the release logs of 2.6.0-alpha22.6.0-alpha32.6.0-alpha42.6.0-alpha52.6.0-alpha6 and 2.6.0-beta1. for the complete list of changes with respect to 2.5.2.

To let you enjoy the beta without worries, the beta builds save their profiles into the PrusaSlicer-beta directory, so you may use the beta side by side with the current release without ruining your production configuration. When you first run the beta, it will search for all configurations produced by alpha or final versions and offer to create a copy of the latest one.

Bugs fixed with respect to 2.6.0-beta1

  • Fixed a crash in Configuration Wizard. #10556
  • Fixed a crash of the new ensuring fill when no vertical lines were generated. #10563
  • Fixed a crash in Organic supports. #10551
  • Fixed a crash after using automatic support painting. #10516
  • Fixed a crash with Organic supports with zero top interfaces and raft enabled. #10547
  • Fixed vertical holes when bridging over infill.

I have been using this since it was released, and love it. The organic supports are excellent; even when they arise from on the print, they are easily released with little damage.
But I particularly appreciate the recognition of signs. I do a lot of signs, and it is a great saving in time to have the slicer recognise what I'm doing and put in the appropriate codes. I wonder if it will do that for some of my 3- and 4- layer signs... Always more to discover.
Im still getting thermal anomoly reports all the time, which are a pain in the butt, but I don't thing that's the slicer, but the new firmware - can you please sort it, folks!

By "can you please sort it folks", I mean a request to Prusa staff, not this forum!
However since I upgraded to the latest firmware (3.12.2)  I also replaced my hotend with a complete pre-assembled hotend from E3D, including a new thermistor, heater hotend and wiring, and I started to get this problem.

However, it turns out that I have a genuine problem. When I temporarily shut off the thermal anomoly error (M320 S0) (if I remember right) The bleeping stopped, but my PLA quickly started to come out with a burning smell, and very over-heated. The reported temperature remained at 206, but it must have been at least 20 degrees above this.

So the thermal anomoly report was in fact correct, and the thermistor is reading falsely, despite it being brand new.  So I will check my wiring, and if I find no error then I'll get on to E3D.

My apologies to Prusa developers; I feel a right nana!!

I have checked the wiring into the Einsy board, and there are no issues there - Does the hive mind have any advice on how to get my printer printing again? It printed beautifully for 2 years until I slipped with an adjustible spanner and broke a wire to the heater in my hotend. This problem comes following replacement of the hotend assembly from E3D direct, and at the same time upgrading to firmware 3.12.2.

IIRC the thermistors E3D use are different than Prusa ones (higher temp i think). See if there's a note about reqd firmware change.

I believe e3d thermistors are electronically the same as Prusa thermistors, but e3d thermistors have a pair of connectors just behind the hot end, which conflict for space, with the back of the prusa X axis assembly. I understand that some folk have removed the connectors and simply soldered the extension wires to the thermistor wires, and heat shrink insulated the joint, just like the Prusa ones...

Thanks, folks. 

The hotend assembly that I bought was advertised by E3D as the one for Prusa i3 Mk3/s. There were no extra leads or connections that I saw, and it fitted into the printed parts for the extruder just fine.

But getting a print out with all these thermal anomoly errorors has been very difficult, even aftr repeated PID calibrations and thermal model re-runs. Having checked everything I can find on this forum and YouTube, I rather desperately (what haven't I done yet?)  tried a temporary "enclosure" by sticking a bath towel strategically round the printer after another series of >15 thermal anomaly interruptions made a simple print last forever, and the rest of the print has carried on perfectly.

Temperature perturbations have reduced from +/- 3°C  to +/-1°C. That seems to have done it. 

I suspect that my next project will be to put the printer into a proper enclosure!
