If you don't understand the support options, just load in a model that you think may need supports, select one support option, slice it and see what you get, then select another option, slice it and see what you get, etc.

You will then start to 'get it' quickly.

You may want to play around with things like support blockers to fine-tune the supports.

A few definitions to get you started

"Support on Build Plate Only" - only automatically generated supports that touch the build plate are included in the sliced output

"Support Enforcers" - allow you to add additional support over and above that  automatically generated

"Support Blocker" - prevent an otherwise automatically generated support from being included in the sliced output

Actually for support enforcers only means you DONT get automatic support generated except in that area, so its not additional support over and above.

One really common mistake people make with enforcers/blockers is to assume that they are area of effect.  They are not.

They work where they touch the model and interact that way.  You can have an overhang that has support and place a blocker below that area on the bed.  It wont stop the support, UNLESS the blocker touches the area of the model above where the support actually joins the model.  Support can freely pass THROUGH the blocker.

As I say, go pick up the basics of the User Interface first, learn what all the icons are/do, at least in theory then take JSW's advice and pick a model, slice it, check the preview, change some options, re-slice and look etc.  Get into the habit of checking through the layers using the slider.  Once you do that for a bit you will soon start picking up how it works and will learn how to spot potential difficult printing areas before wasting filament with failed ones (although that has a certain teaching value all on its own too).

Thanks jsw.  But you are assuming that I have models.  I am still struggling with Fusion 360!  But you are right.  Experiments are the best way to learn.  Too much of what I learn by reading evaporates too easily.;

I have watched three tutorials on using support enforcers and blockers and when I do it myself the enforcers disappear when I slice it. They don't phantomly appear when I print either. I am on an ender 3 pro. Even so it is in Prusa slicer that they disappear. I went into print settings and turned off automatic supports and turned on generate support material and tried every variation I could but the support enforcers always disappear. If someone could explain what I'm doing wrong I would be grateful.
