Prusa slicer, "Unhandled unknown exception; terminating the application", "Internal error: Calling AppConfig::save() from a worker thread!"

Hello, i Have a strange issue, not sure what to make of it, when I start Prusha Slicer I get this:

Error1

Then if I click ok I get this:

Then it crashes,

From what I gather it has something to do with Nvidia GPU, but with my GPU I cannot disable hardware acceleration (no such options exist)

but if I disable the GPU altogether, then Prucha slicer works.

Here are some more details to help diagnose:(if you need some kind of log or somthing let me know)

Please help, I don't want to disable my GPU each time I want to print.

Here is what seems to work for now.

I forced it to go into software render mode by editing the shortcut like this:

"C:\Program Files\Prusa3D\PrusaSlicer\prusa-slicer.exe" --sw-renderer

same GPU card here, but win 10, same error. I have run it from command line, and got this error:

Unable to parse version of AMD driver.

Uncaught exception: Calling AppConfig::save() from a worker thread!

But this configuration does not have an AMD card..., please update.

This was the only way I could get it to work again.

My slicer suddenly wouldn't start, an no amount of registry cleaning and complete uninstalls works.

I can't find any official statement or support regarding the issue either

Thanks, this worked for me where all other suggestions had failed (renaming ini, renaming AppData folder, nVidia Image Adjust set to "Let 3D app decide")

Hey,
I encountered the same issue yesterday, tried everything mentioned above but it didn't help.
then I updated my windows and installed the latest patches and it worked... try that

I got this to work as well, by modifying the shortcut as suggested, but it seems my resolution is not as good as it was with the GPU as the renderer. Hoping this will get some attention from the developers since it seems that there are several people running into this issue.

Hello,

not perfect but found a better solution wich allow us to use rendering: from the System / Display /Graphics control panel, add the prusa slicer (It works also for Super Slicer!!) and force it to use the intel integrated card, with this one works for me. It seems a problem with nvidia drivers/card.

HTH!

I just ran into the same issue after my Laptop auto-updated the Iris Xe graphics drivers. Before it worked. At least setting the graphics preference to that card it works for now.

Thanks a lot!
