Prusa slicer SD cards

I have a curious side effect from switching to Prusa slicer from S3d.

On all three of my SD cards a "write protected" syndrome is apparent  I definitely have the switch unlocked,  tape in place over the opposite cutout. Further I have entered the "diskpart" on the command prompt and "removed disk clear readonly" which reports that it is clear and unlocked. But on trying to use it, it is not?? At my wits end.

Help or suggestions gratefully received.

Are any SD cards writable on your device?

Yes they all are good, for one file only and then they revert to locked. I just dowloaded the new 2.3 and the result is the same on two different pc`s

That's Odd,

I have been using the same SD Card from 2.2.0, through the three 2.3.0 Alpha versions and the three 2.3.0 Beta versions, with no problems...

Are your cards by any chance Transflash cards in SD Size carriers?

I have had problems with those in the past...
I now use 16GB Full size SD Cards...

I always format my SD cards with this tool. Maybe you can fix the problem with it.

No Guarantee,  but it's worth a try...
any size up to 32GB should be OK,   16GB was the cheapest I could find

Don't waste money on cheap slow no-name stuff. Buy a brand you trust, FWIW I use Sandisk Extreme for phone and OctoPrint.

I use well-known brands, mostly SanDisk, for both the 3d printer and cameras.

I've found that factory formatting works well for both.

If they need to be reformatted I'll use the standard Linux utilities such as parted and mkfs.vfat

I've never had the printer choke on any of them.
