Prusa Slicer Infill Multiplier?
Hey everyone. New here but I've been using Prusa slicer as my preferred slicer for a little while now. Really enjoy it and getting great prints. I've got a question however. In Cura (I have 4.8 but I believe this has been there a little while now) there is an option to change the infill multiplier effectively doubling, tripling, etc the line width of the infill pattern. This is nice if you want your infill visible in a design. I printed a camera mount for my machine recently but had to use Cura because I couldn't figure out how to do this in Prusa. Here is the design I'm referring to: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4634481
I'm curious if Prusa has something similar or if there is another work around? Also while I'm here and because it's related to infill I also remember a setting at some point that allowed you to keep the tool path only over printed areas to reduce visible stringing.
Thanks and looking forward to posting more!
RE: Prusa Slicer Infill Multiplier?
Have a look at Extrusion width options in 'Print Settings>Advanced' It's an Advanced mode setting, so you need to be in either Advanced Mode, or Expert Mode, to see the option
the other command is 'Avoid Crossing Perimeters', and that is in the "Print Settings>Layers and Perimeters>Quality" menu....
BUT it's not been very good... so I suggest that you consider using Prusa Slicer 2.3.0 Beta1, if you need this function, because there have been changes in this version of software that improve the "Avoid Crossing Perimeters" function.

@joantabb
Thanks very much! I'll take a look at both settings and do some testing. Do you know fs the extrusion width setting you're referring to something I would see in the slicer or would I just have to print and see how it turns out?
RE: Prusa Slicer Infill Multiplier?
You should see it in the preview too, and you can always change the preview type to Extrusion width to show you what widths various parts of your model are being printed at.

a lot depends upon what changes you make. In the image below,
the left hand panel the infill is set at 0.45mm extrusion width
the Middle Panel infill is set at 0.6mm Extrusion width
the right hand panel is set at 1.2mm extrusion width,
In all cases the perimeters at the top are 0.45mm extrusion width.... Click on picture to expand it for viewing.
the infill is described by
Fill Pattern,
Layer height
Fill Density,
Extrusion Width
If you change the extrusion width then the pattern size has to change to maintain the required Fill Density
the layer height and fill pattern remain independent.
you can't see a massive thickness change between left and middle, but you can see the pattern size has changed,
if you look at the Left and right panels, you can see a significant difference in both line thickness and pattern size.
a 0.4mm nozzle will print extrusion widths greater than 0.4mm because the Meplat (Flat area around the nozzle opening) effectively smooths the hot filament out as it extrudes.
the slicer takes the extra width into account during processing and ensures that there is adequate space for the wider extrusions.
the absolute greatest width that you can extrude depends upon a number of factors including nozzle temperature, Layer height, extrusion speed, extrusion width, Max Volumetric speed and state of wear of the nozzle.
these last two parameters are probably the most important, if you try to use too fast a print speed with too large an extrusion width and too large a layer height you will run into issues with volumetric speed... if you have a new nozzle this may limit the width that can be smoothed...
I have successfully printed up to 1.2mm with an older nozzle in a vase mode model.

This fixed the problem I was having. Thanks a lot!
