Prusa slicer giving insane filament and print estimates [Ex: ~7 Kg playing card box]
So I wanted to make a card box for a print and play card game.
I found this model on Printables and printed it with the .6 Nozzle I already had in place. I wasn't very happy with the results but had already swapped to a .4 nozzle and figured I'd just print with the .4 instead of switching. So I went to reslice the box for .4 and was shocked when the print time jumped from 3 hours to 7. I know there can be a difference, but when I had checked this print before, when printing at the same layer height, there had hardly been a difference. I didn't think much more of it since this is an overnight print but when I went to start it Octo print alerted me that my 800g roll was not enough to cover this small card box.
When I finally looked I realized the reason the print time was so high was that Prusa insisted this card box was going to use over 8kg of material.
The original print with .6 nozzle
What I tried to print this time around
What prusa slicer shows - This was a redownload of the file. Brand new
And now it is saying this lil 41 x 63 x 22mm duck will use 980g of filament?!
Has anyone run into this?

Figured it out. I had set the filament extrusion multiplier to 99 instead of .99 😀

That should have given you a sanity warning.

There wasn't a sanity check, when I did the same thing....
I passed the issue to the developers, and they added a sanity check... I hope it's still active...
