Prusa Slicer does not behave as expected (MultiMaterialColoring)
Hi everyone,
i want to print and slice the attached objects.
Both are identical, but one has a hole and some "higher body" (designed to put some weights inside).
When you look at the small "C" objects, you can see that these are sliced completly different.
While the Cs of the small object consists of two solid layers sliced on top of the ground plate, the big object only has one layer for these Cs.
When i now inspect the sliced layers manually i see this:
I can even see the slicer is printing the contours but in the wrong color on lower levels. This results in a very bad looking color (cause its to thin for the bigger object).
Despite that, the small object looks exactly like I want!
Is there any option in the slicer to control this? To start the color for the Cs of the bigger object "deeper" in the object?
Thanks in advance
Greetings

Nobody even got a clue ? Seems to be an open issue with the Prusa Slicer ?
Maybe some of the Devs can look at that ?

Devs don't generally hang out here, they inhabit the Github area.
Painting has some odd ways of working.
If I want to have a specific colour setup. I tend to use modifier STL's in preference to painting

No clue ? You haven't even attached your prusa slicer project file here for people to examine. How are we supposed to see or test what different changes/settings will do without one ? All these things are entirely geometry dependant as you noted that the one with hole behaves differently.
RE:
@JoanTabb; What do you mean with modifying the STLs ? By hand ? With another tool ?
Can you throw me some start points for this?

Hi Snakebyte
what I meant was to use STL's to modify a print, rather than using Prusa Slicer Painting to do it...
in the attached example. I have used STL's to modify a smooth surface with my preferred information
Normally I would make all of the sections the same thickness, but for this example I have purposefully made the STL's different thicknesses
this allows me to use the same base model for different people without modifying the original base model...
