Prusa Slicer 2.6 BUG in Vase Mode?
I use Prusa Slicer 2.6 and as you can see from the photo I set a solid in vase mode with a 0.8 nozzle and 0.3 layer, on a 60mm high Z axis, but when the print ends by measuring the Z height, 2 mm are missing, the measurement it is 58mm instead of 60, I can't understand why, even with 120mm solids on the Z axis, 2 mm are missing when the print is finished, can anyone help me understand? Thank you.
Thermal contraction of the cooling filament will account for some of it, about 0.5mm; for the rest just calibrate a Z multiplier to use with any dimensionally critical prints just as you do in X and Y.
Your first approximation with that nozzle/layer combination is 60/58; roughly 1.034. Multiply and desired Z value by that figure in the design stage and you should be close.
Cheerio,
RISPONDI: Prusa Slicer 2.6 BUG in Vase Mode?
Ok thanks for the help, so if I understand correctly, there is no way to calculate the retraction value of the final piece before printing based on the actual Nozzle/Layer/Total Height values, to be able to modify the solid on the value Z into the slicer without wasting time and material. At this point to find that value you should print a small test to see the difference between the printout and the value designed in CAD. Is this right or is there another option?

I would like to bring this page to your attention.
It explains a few things about XYZ calibration.
RE:
Thanks, but my XYZ calibration is perfect in normal mode, ever with nozzle 0.8 and layer 0.3 and the same filament. Have print the calibration cube and is perfect, 0,05-0,10 of tollerance. So, if I print in vase mode I can only do what I described in my previous message, that is, a small test to find the value to exceed in the design phase with the slicer. Too bad there isn't a way to calculate the value before printing, if there are any ideas on this I would appreciate help. Thanks for your help.
RE:
Unfortunately I have to update my version to solve the problem of incorrect heights on Z when printing in vase mode. No small test can be valid, you have to print the solid as it is and see how many mm are missing to reach the right size, correct the solid in the slicer and proceed with the printing again. This is a real tragedy, as time and material are wasted, but it remains the only possible option. At least I think so, if anyone has any other ideas I would be grateful to know.
