Prusa 2.8.0 killed FlashForge vendor bundle, PS documentation needs work

Prusa 2.8.0's treatment of vendor bundles killed the vendor bundle for FlashForge Creator Pro II IDEX printer that has been working for several years now with PS2.6.1 and below (see my post on this project).  There are some references in the current PS 2.8.0 change notices to the effect that the changes may affect previous vendor bundles, but the 'vendor bundle' document is too confusing to follow.  The only way we could get the FlashForge profile back working is to downgrade PS to 2.6.1, install the printer, and then upgrade back to 2.8.0 with our fingers crossed.  In my case I stayed at 2.6.1 because I didn't want to have to start all over again after several unsuccessful tries.

The vendor bundle documentation needs a complete rewrite, so groups like ours can successfully add popular printers, and get them added to the 'official list' of supported printers on future updates to Prusa Slicer

I should have mentioned in my original post that I would be quite happy to work with anyone on the Prusa side to make the new vendor bundle architecture better.  I'm a retired engineer with plenty of systems design experience and plenty of time.  I would LOVE to produce a tutorial showing exactly how to take a printer profile like our FlashForge.ini for the FlashForge Creator Pro II IDEX and turn it into a conforming vendor bundle that could eventually become a 'Prusa Supported' printer.

I guess you should ask on GitHub.

See my GitHub and printables.com for some 3d stuff that you may like.

Wow!  I looked around for a bit, and liked a lot of what I saw, especially the width and breadth of your projects, and the fact that you are willing to show off the misses as well as the hits 🙂

Unfortunately I didn't find anything relevant to our project to get Prusas Slicer to  work and play well with Flashforge Creator Pro II IDEX printer.  You can see my stuff at my blog site and my github account  🙂

The correct github for the settings etc is https://github.com/prusa3d/PrusaSlicer-settings/issues

Here is user to user forum , the devs monitor the various github repo's so if you want help with the settings etc and want to officially submit one then thats the place to go.

I think you probably clicked on my github profile page which is in my signature for the forum posts I write. Also sorry for being a bit vague in the previous response, I just thought the url to the PrusaSlicer repo is so known that there is no point in pasting it over and over again on the forum pots.

Neophyl provided the url to the repo you may be interested to report an issue and discuss your matter with the code owners and create Pull Request if needed.

See my GitHub and printables.com for some 3d stuff that you may like.
