Proper Procedure for Updating Presets After Adding MMU3

(Note:  I am specifically talking about my recent MMU3 upgrade to my MK4, but this might be relevant for any upgrade that affects presets)

I finally added the MMU3 to my MK4, but I am struggling to work with presets in PS such that I always get the MMU3-specific settings.

I've resorted to completely wiping out all my user presets, and working from the defaults.  But even after doing that, I sometimes get reversion to the non-MMU behaviors.  I assume it has something to do with opening 3mf files from before the upgrade, but even if I change the print/filament/printer presets to the MMU3 defaults, I still get gcode sliced for the non-MMU3 MK4.  This results in the print starting with no filament (not just the bed probing which is expected, but the actual first layer starts with no filament).  The gcode filenames specify "MK4IS" instead of "MK4MMU3" so I'm able to avoid starting these prints now, but I'd sure like to understand how we're supposed to handle this...

Is there any guidance on what to do with presets after an upgrade?

Thanks!
