Profile for Anycubic Kobra ?

Does anyone have the profile settings which work for the Anycubic Kobra printer?  This would be for the regular Kobra, not the Kobra Max .

Thank you

I'm in the same boat. I cant find the settings that match anywhere. Id really hate to install Cura again. I'm so much happier with PrusaSlicer using it with my Ender. Please Help, someone, anyone?

This might be worth a look: https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/prusaslicer/slicing-models-for-the-new-anycubic-kobra-max/

If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.
Find out why this is pinned in the general section!

Damn no update? 🙁 Just got the Kobra and I like Prusa much more than Cura. Hopefully someone has a solution soon. (Or equivalent, like Ender worked for Elegoo for example)

Folks, there are enough of you to work together on this.  Begin brewing your own profile and pool resources on testing and tweaking, once you have something worthwhile you will be able to offer it to the community and ask Prusa to include it in their next distro.

I would actually like a good one for the normal Vyper... I'm playing with settings and would share if I find something useful but it's my 1st ever printer and I'm spending a lot of expensive filament to test, when electricity prices are also £300 a month this is not at all smart, so if someone already has perfected it for the Vyper please share.

RE: Profile for Anycubic Kobra ?

Hi, have anyone been able to create a decent Kobra profile?
I have tried, and I printed small calibration cat without any issue, but when it comes to benchy, I have strange layer shift on Z axis around 10mm of height.

Do you recommend any method to write custom G code start, and how to troubleshoot this type of strange issue?
I do not really know where to begin with

Hi there! I hate to see forum threads without a solution yet (:P), so I tried to find one.

I managed to print a benchy (no layer shift in mine), but I have some stringing and the print got stuck at 99% without finishing to run the code (probably something wrong with my end g-code).
Despite the 99% the model was actually fully completed.

If I manage to fix those things up, I'll update you and make a profile for the Kobra 👍

RE: Profile for Anycubic Kobra ?

I have been able to print nice models with rip-off code from Prusa Mini with calibration of settings for Cobra, however, the start and end g code probably makes no sense - I have never used custom g code before, but I understand that the one from Prusa Mini, especially auto-calibration, might not exactly work properly on Cobra...

(Print settings were rather easy to obtain, and it was not that difficult to calibrate them)

That's neat! You should share it!
I'm actually testing my profile, I should have been able to fix stringing and some uderextrusions I got in later prints.

If you want, the G-Code I made works fine for start and end.
It's nothing too fancy:
At the start it just makes sure everything is primed before starting the print, makes a line on the front bed to clean the nozzle
At the end it moves the print bed to the front  and make sure everything is turned off

Here's the G-Code

  • Start G-Code
M104 S[first_layer_temperature] ; set extruder temp
M140 S[first_layer_bed_temperature] ; set bed temp
M190 S[first_layer_bed_temperature] ; wait for bed temp
M109 S[first_layer_temperature] ; wait for extruder temp

G28; Home all axes
G1 Z5 F5000 ; lift nozzle

G1 Y0 F9001 ; go to front edge of the bed
G1 Z1 F9001 ; dip nozzle
G92 E0.0 ; reset extruder position
G1 X60.0 E9.0 F1000.0 ; cleaner line
G1 X100.0 E12.5 F1000.0 ; cleaner line
G92 E0.0 ; reset extruder position

  • End G-Code
M104 S0 ; turn off temperature
M140 S0 ; turn off heatbed
G28 X0 ; home X axis

G1 X0 Y200 F9001 ; home X axis, present print
M84 ; disable motors

RE:

This one seems to be working nicely for me, I will be testing it more throughout the weekend and I will provide the profile and settings I use.
(As PrusaSlicer seems to output far better quality models than Cura on my configuration...)

My main issue with Cura is how it treats travel paths etc, as it often completely destroys the aesthetics of the top layer etc.
PrusaSlicer never had this issue regardless of the printer, and I have spent some time troubleshooting, but it provided mediocre improvement, still far behind the base Prusa settings.

Hi there, did you ever manage to finish the profile? @Kanno I'd love to make the switch but I'm just not comfortable with custom code yet...

Cheers!

RE: Profile for Anycubic Kobra ?

Hi, I am currently testing it because although it did a nice job of printing bigger parts, it terribly botched small parts.
I could show what I am working on as a baseline, but it still might require calibration depending on the expected results.

It's not the absolute greatest but I consistently get great quality prints, not sure how to upload my profile though?

Edit: Video appears to have not uploaded....
