Problems with pre-foamed LW-PLA

I'm trying to print single wall parts with polymaker lw-pla.

After some trial and error they are mostly coming out ok, but not great.

Initially I had issues with underextrusion at the start of a layer (pic below). I solved this by adding 0.15mm extra length on restart. My retraction is very high at 1.5mm as the filament appears to be quite stringy. My retraction length for standard PLA is about 0.2mm (Nf-Sunrise)

the prints now look like this. No underextrusion, but I still get quite a bulge where the inner brace meets the outer wall. I originally thought this was related to infill overlap, but as this part has no infill I dont think it is.

Any suggestions?

I don't have your project file so I'm just spit-balling here, but you might try adjustment of the Slice gap closing radius and/or changing the Slicing mode.

you might also be expected to do some sanding in those areas as you prepare the wing and other parts for attachment, even though the material is pre-foamed you might still expect more expansion from the material, meaning that retraction is probably not going to have much effect, printing at slightly lower temperatures and slower speeds in conjunction with proper cooling may be the answer.

Perhaps try these suggestions one at a time to see the effect, before combining them.

Regards

Thank for the suggestions. I'll take a look at slice gap closing radius - That's not a setting I'm familiar with.
I'll print the next part at a lower temp too - I remember seeing that suggested by polymaker.
