Problem transferring slicer files to printer
Just got my MK4S and set up today. Was able to connect printer to home network but unable to send sliced files via wi-fi.
Does/can PSlicer transfer sliced files via a direct usb cable connection between computer and printer? How about ethernet? Run an ethernet cable directly from computer to printer? Not really thrilled about constantly plugging / unplugging usb drive.
Thanks.
RE: Problem transferring slicer files to printer
Hey man,
In case you've not figured it out yet, it is possible via PrusaLink.
LAN / WiFi should be the same, as long as the printer is connected to your network.
I also have an MK4S connected to my network (via LAN switch). All the BGCODE/GCODE files are sent directly to the printer, without the hassle of swapping the USB Drive between the PC and the printer itself. Also, I found that PrusaConnect randomly generates errors related to the storage so I stopped using it.
So... what do you need to make it work? Simple:
- use the browser to connect to the printer and upload the BGCode files
- OR (a better option)
- connect the slicer via PrusaLink and send them directly from PrusaSlicer
Instructions on both approaches can be found here: https://help.prusa3d.com/guide/wi-fi-and-prusa-connect-link-setup-core-one-mk4-s-mk3-9-mk3-5-xl-mini_413293
Cheers!
