"Preparing settings tabs..."

Can someone explain why "Preparing settings tabs..." takes so long? most of the time several minutes before it starts.

i have used prusaslicer for a long time and i it has been like this for several versions but in the beginning it was much quicker.

RE: "Preparing settings tabs..."

Takes about 2-3 seconds on my windows 10 pc.  That's total startup time, from double clicking the prusa slicer.exe to it showing the platter.

There have been reports of it taking longer when you use any network based or mapped drives etc on your system as if it cant find something then all the network timeouts have to occur before it can finish loading in things.

You dont mention anything about what your OS is etc so a general "it doesn't work" is not going to get you much in the way of a helpful response though.

A search of the issues on the prusa slicer github gets
https://github.com/prusa3d/PrusaSlicer/issues/11518
or https://github.com/prusa3d/PrusaSlicer/issues/6050   which both seem to relate to issues with various HID (human interface devices), thinks like corsair mouse and keyboards etc.  So do you have a corsair keyboard ?

Thanks, i don't have a corsair keyboard but i do have a corsair mouse, pulling out the usb cable to the mouse appears to make it start right away.
(pulled out mouse while splash screen was stuck longer than normal)
It appears that once it is in a good state it stays like that until computer is rebooted
