RE: Polaroid 250s
I hope it’s not a 20metre cube
:-).
thanks I’ll try it tomorrow and stand by the power switch as I did on my earlier attempt.
I will let you know how it goes.
RE: Polaroid 250s
Clumsy fingers! 😀
Yeah that's the best approach.... Good luck
RE: Polaroid 250s
Well Guy, another step in the right direction but i wouldn't call it a cube.:-}
The first layer went down just above the bed and so had no adhesion. So im thinking the nozzle needs to be lowered by 0.4 if you look closely at the bottom pic you can see the filament has not been squashed at all. The cube was moving all the time so we can read nothing into the quality above the base layer.
The position on the bed was once again over to the extreme right, I notice that all the gcode was in the negative where previously it was positive but the position of the print was not that different.
The code finished correctly the bed lowered the head went back to the rear right and the fan stopped.
RE: Polaroid 250s
I have been giving Polaroid some grief and they say but don't recommend the first four lines could be changed to this.

RE: Polaroid 250s
Hi, okay so we're on the right track. Just need to change the bed origin in PS I think. I can do that. There's the option to change the Z offset but you will need to be watching closely to ensure the nozzle doesn't scrape the bed. Let me try again....

RE: Polaroid 250s
I have these in the start gcode already. Should be visible if you open the ebp file in a text editor.

RE:
As before but bed origin moved to the centre of the bed (part should print in the centre). Z offset at -0.3mm. It may be still too far away but we can lower if needed.
RE: Polaroid 250s
One more thing to add. I see you're using the sticky sheets for the bed adhesion. If we can dial in the z offset then you should be able to print on the glass bed directly, with a thin layer of glue.
RE: Polaroid 250s
Thanks ill print it any minute, looking at the gcode G92 is still zero. Where can i read the -0.3 z axis offset?
RE: Polaroid 250s
This bit:
;HEIGHT:0.2
G1 Z-.1 F7800 [The layer height is 0.2 yet the Z height is set to below the bed by 0.1mm to compensate for the probe)
G1 E-1.5 F2400
G92 E0
RE: Polaroid 250s
Thanks
RE: Polaroid 250s
Well that was entertaining.
The machine zeroed ok, but when it set off to print it scraped the sheet and then shot through the gcode at quite a rate it had got to about 40% before i stopped it.
Could it have been bouncing off the end stop in some way?
See pic for the piece of modern art it produced.
The print one again was not in the centre.
When i bring a cube into PolaroidPrep it puts it into position X174.25, Y75.479, Z0.837 and it appears to be centred on the bed. As the bed is 250 by 150 only the Y value makes sense. X174.25 makes it a 350mm bed.
RE: Polaroid 250s
Oh dear. Likely that it was a problem caused by the offset.
Can you slice a 20mm cube in the polaroid slicer and add the file here. I'll review and we can try again.
RE: Polaroid 250s
Having a strange day here the cube would not open on the mac (but it did earlier) so this is from the windows version, the position on the bed makes a lot more sense as it shows X115, Y85, Z0
RE: Polaroid 250s
On Windows Zero is the back right corner
RE: Polaroid 250s
Thanks. I set the origin to that originally but you said the cube tried to print near the edge. I'll do a new ebp file now and let's see how it goes.
RE: Polaroid 250s
I have just managed to open the cube on the mac is was the mac saying it was from an unknown developer. Opened it it in Turbocad and saved it back.
The cube shows at the same location on the mac version of Poloroid Prep.
